Dr. Emma Armstead

Veterinarian (BVSc (Hons))

Dr Emma Armstead graduated from the University of Queensland with Honours and has been a practicing vet since 2007.
Emma has practiced in both Australia and overseas and has a broad range of experience in small animal medicine, surgery and emergency practice.
Emma's special interests include small animal internal medicine and ultrasound. Emma has completed additional studies in small animal ultrasound, making her our resident ultrasonographer for our patients.

In her spare time, Emma enjoys yoga, painting and spending time with her two children.

Dr. Heloise Meighan

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Heloise graduated from the University of Melbourne, and joined our team in early 2015 after working in a small animal clinic in Sandringham. Heloise enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but particularly enjoys surgery.

In her spare time Heloise enjoys surfing, skiing and all things fitness as well as singing and playing the cello. 

Heloise resides in Brunswick with her dog, Thunder and cat Thor.

Dr. Candice Waldhauser

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Candice graduated from James Cook University in Queensland and has since worked at a mixed practice in Bacchus Marsh before moving to Sunbury Animal Hospital in March 2016.

Candice is a local girl, having lived in Riddells Creek since she was 4 years old.
She has been riding horses since this age, but now also enjoys CrossFit, challenging herself and loves trying new things. Candice has 1 dog, 3 cats, 3 horses and chickens to keep her busy.

Candice enjoys small animal practice and has a keen interest in surgery.

Dr. Leighton Burger

Veterinarian (BMedLabSc, DVM)

Leighton graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. He joined us in late June 2017 after working in another small animal practice for the past few years. He enjoys all aspects of being a small animal vet, but is really just in it for the puppy and kitten cuddles.

Dr. Leighton lives with Golden Retriever, Skye and in his spare time he likes to annoy his neighbours by hitting various things with sticks and twanging on strings.

Dr. Jordis Scheidegger

Veterinarian (BSC: Biology/Neuroscience, DVM)

Dr. Jordis joined our team in April 2019 after graduating from Melbourne University. Jordis loves the variety of her job and loves that no two days are the same. Jordis has a love for cats and dogs, of course, but she also has a keen interest in exotic pets and wildlife.

Jordis originally hales from Switzerland (you may notice an accent when you meet her). Jordis now lives just outside of Melbourne in a share-house with her rescue cat, Mouse. In her spare time she likes to ride her bike and explore our beautiful state, she also enjoys the fancy brunch lifestyle that Melbourne offers. She's also a keen soccer player!


Practice Manager (Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing)

Donna started at the Sunbury Animal Hospital in September 2017. Donna loves that her vet nursing career and role as a manager keeps her on her toes as no two days are the same. She also enjoys learning and adapting in her job roles to continue to improve (and she absolutely loves a cat/dog/puppy/kitten cuddle!)

Donna resides with her young son and gorgeous pets, Pickles the Pug X JRT and Pepper the cat. In her spare time Donna loves to spend time with friends and family.



Jennie has been a receptionist with Sunbury Animal Hospital since 2000.

She and her husband live in Sunbury with their dog, Kip.



Veterinary Nurse (Cert II Animal Care and Management)

Courtney started working at Sunbury Animal Hospital in February 2012 and holds multiple certificates in animal care and agriculture.

Courtney lives in Sunbury with her young son and their menagerie of animals - including 2 dogs, 1 cat, a turtle, a bearded dragon, an axolotl, and a southern brown tree frog.

Courtney loves spending time with her family and friends, playing guitar, and has a keen interest in vintage cars and tattoos.  


Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing)

Elisa was initially studying to be a human oral health therapist, before joining the team at Sunbury Animal Hospital as a veterinary nurse in July 2014. Elisa has a keen interest in all things dental and loves helping prevent dental disease in our pets.

In her spare time Elisa enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to the beach, playing netball and attending music gigs. She also has a Saluki named Sylvie and a black cat named Zooms.



Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing)

Amy started at the Sunbury Animal Hospital in May 2015.

In her spare time, Amy likes to travel and spend time with family and friends.

Amy lives in Sunbury with her partner and cats, Oliver and Ginny.

Jess started working at Sunbury Animal Hospital in early 2015.

Jess lives in Sunbury with her family, and her dog, Nala.

Jess mostly enjoys spending time with her friends, shopping and playing with her dog.


Veterinary Nurse

Mikayla has been working at Sunbury Animal Hospital since December 2016.
She is currently studying Cert IV Vet Nursing at Box Hill Institute.

Mikayla lives in Gisborne with her family, her dogs Oscar and Alli, and her two guinea pigs, Ned and Pedro.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and travelling.
