Dr. Glen Hastie

Veterinarian (BVSc, MVS, MACVSc)

Glen graduated from the QLD university and has been a practicing vet since 1989 and has worked at Sunbury Animal Hospital the entire time.

Glen lives in Sunbury on 150 acres and among his menagerie of animals are 2 dogs, 4 cats, 11 chooks, 2 miniature pigs and 50 Highland cattle.

Glen enjoys breeding and showing his cattle, playing squash and tennis, and spending time with his family


Dr. Emma Armstead

Veterinarian (BVSc (Hons))

Dr Emma Armstead graduated from the University of Queensland with Honours and has been a practicing vet since 2007.
Emma has practiced in both Australia and overseas and has a broad range of experience in small animal medicine, surgery and emergency practice.
 
Emma's special interests include small animal internal medicine and ultrasound.
 

In her spare time, Emma enjoys yoga, painting and spending time with her two children.


Dr. Heloise Meighan

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Heloise graduated from the University of Melbourne, and joined our team in early 2015 after working in a small animal clinic in Sandringham. Heloise enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but particularly enjoys surgery.

In her spare time Heloise enjoys surfing, skiing and all things fitness as well as singing and playing the cello. 

Heloise resides in Brunswick with her dog, Thunder and cat Gypsy.


Dr. Candice Waldhauser

Veterinarian (BVSc)

**CURRENTLY ON MATERNITY LEAVE**

Candice graduated from James Cook University in Queensland and has since worked at a mixed practice in Bacchus Marsh before moving to Sunbury Animal Hospital in March 2016.

Candice is a local girl, having lived in Riddells Creek since she was 4 years old.
She has been riding horses since this age, but now also enjoys CrossFit, challenging herself and loves trying new things. Candice has 1 dog, 3 cats, 3 horses and chickens to keep her busy.

Candice enjoys small animal practice and has a keen interest in surgery.


Dr. Leighton Burger

Veterinarian (BMedLabSc, DVM)

Leighton graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. He joined us in late June 2017 after working in another small animal practice for the past few years. He enjoys all aspects of being a small animal vet, but is really just in it for the puppy and kitten cuddles.
 

Dr. Leighton lives with Golden Retriever, Skye and in his spare time he likes to annoy his neighbours by hitting various things with sticks and twanging on strings.


Dr. Jordis Scheidegger

Veterinarian (BSC: Biology/Neuroscience, DVM)


Donna

Practice Manager (Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing)

Donna started at the Sunbury Animal Hospital in September 2017. She is currently studying her Certiciate IV in Veterinary Nursing at Kangan Institute.

Donna resides with her young son and gorgeous pets, Pickles the Pug X JRT and Pepper the cat. In her spare time Donna loves to spend time with friends and family.


Jennie

Receptionist

Jennie has been a receptionist with Sunbury Animal Hospital since 2000.

She and her husband live in Sunbury with their dog, Kip.

 


Tania

Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing, Diploma in Specialist Surgical Nursing)

Tania started working at Sunbury Animal Hospital in 2005.

Tania lives with her three dogs Dipsy, Bindi and Millie and her horse Ernie.

Tania has a strong interest in horses, but also enjoys gardening, spending time with family and her animals

 


Courtney

Veterinary Nurse (Cert II Animal Care and Management)

Courtney started working at Sunbury Animal Hospital in February 2012 and holds multiple certificates in animal care and agriculture.

Courtney lives in Sunbury with her young son and their menagerie of animals - including 2 dogs, 1 cat, a turtle, a bearded dragon, an axolotl, and a southern brown tree frog.

Courtney loves spending time with her family and friends, playing guitar, and has a keen interest in vintage cars and tattoos.  


Elisa

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing)

Elisa was initially studying to be a human oral health therapist, before joining the team at Sunbury Animal Hospital as a veterinary nurse in July 2014.

In her spare time Elisa enjoys spending time with friends and family and attending music gigs.

 


Amy

Veterinary Nurse

Amy started at the Sunbury Animal Hospital in May 2015. She is currently studying her certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing at Box Hill TAFE.

In her spare time, Amy likes to travel and spend time with family and friends.

Amy lives in Sunbury with her partner and cats, Oliver and Ginny.


Jess

Veterinary Nurse

Jess started working at Sunbury Animal Hospital in early 2015.

Jess lives in Sunbury with her family, and her dog, Nala.

Jess mostly enjoys spending time with her friends, shopping and playing with her dog.


Mikayla

Veterinary Nurse

Mikayla has been working at Sunbury Animal Hospital since December 2016.
She is currently studying Cert IV Vet Nursing at Box Hill Institute.

Mikayla lives in Gisborne with her family, her dogs Oscar and Alli, and her two guinea pigs, Ned and Pedro.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and travelling.


Cassy

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing)

Cassy has just graduated her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing through Tafe NSW. Growing up in country Tasmania on a hobby farm surrounded by a menagerie of animals. After some time living in the big cities of Australia and several different career paths, she is thrilled to be finally following her dreams of working and caring for animals of all sorts. Cassy lives in Plumpton with her partner and 2 Golden Retrievers, Mollie and Jack. In her spare time, she enjoys being active, running and cycling as well as more homely activities like sewing and reading. Cassy has a real interest in exotic animals and birds and volunteers at the Melbourne Zoo on her days off.
