Why Puppy Preschool?
Puppy Preschool is specifically designed for dogs aged six to sixteen weeks of age. This is an extremely important period in the development of the puppy.
Puppy classes are run at our clinic in four weekly courses on Saturday mornings. Jo, our head nurse is a qualified Puppy Preschool trainer who has been running courses for over 20 years.
The focus is on puppy issues such as socialisation, housetraining, play biting and chewing more than formal 'obedience'. Puppies need to learn social skills and house manners more urgently than learning to obey 'commands'.
Our classes:
-
are held in small groups. Usually six puppies or less.
-
run in a relaxed way with respect for both owners and puppies
-
use methods that focus on encouraging and rewarding the right behaviour rather than punishing or 'correcting' undesirable behaviour.
You will learn:
-
how to read your puppy's body language and understand normal puppy behaviour
-
to develop your puppy's social skills.
-
important tips for walking on the lead and house training.
-
about important boundaries when playing together.
-
how to develop strong bonds between you and your puppy.
Well socialised puppies are happy puppies!
