Aqis Vet - Export of Dogs from Aus to Fiji
Dr Phil is an aqis accredited vet - offer veterinary services for export of pets.
There are permits from the importing country and also state vet requirements.

From the micor site the following :
1. RESIDENCY:
The dog traveling to FIJI must have been continuously resident in Australia since birth or for at least six months prior to export and must not have been in quarantine or under quarantine restriction during the thirty days immediately preceding export.
2 .PROHIBITED BREEDS:
The following breeds of dogs are prohibited from importation into Fiji:
- dogo argentino
- fila Brazileiro
- Japanese tosa
- pit bull terriers, including American pit bull terriers
- or crosses of any of the above
7.3 INDENTIFICATION:
All dogs imported into Fiji from Aus must be microchipped and this microchip should be able to be read by an Avid/Destron microchip reader. The aqis vet will confrm this.
7.4 PREGNANCY STATUS:
Females must not be more than 42 days pregnant at the time of export, nor must they be suckling young.
7.5 AGE RESTRICTION
Dogs under four (4) months of age are ineligible for importation.
7.6 POST-ENTRY QUARANTINE
7.6.1. Dogs will be released after the minimum quarantine period only if they remain healthy throughout the post-entry quarantine period and all the quarantine fees have been paid. For details of quarantine and other fees, please contact the Post-Entry Quarantine Station on phone (679) 3400317, fax (679) 3400408.
7.6.2. The minimum quarantine period is seven days at the government Post-Entry Quarantine Station at Koronivia. Home quarantine is NOT an option.
7.6.3. Please contact the Post Entry Quarantine (PEQ) well ahead of time (6-8 weeks) before departure from Australia to book for kennel space reservations.

8.2 VACCINATIONS
8.2.1 Dogs must be vaccinated against distemper, infectious canine hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza virus and leptospirosis at least thirty days and not more than twelve months prior to export to Fiji From Australia
The vaccination certificate or copies endorsed by an Official veterinarian must be attached to Veterinary Certificate A.
8.4 BRUCELLOSIS
Within 30 days prior to the scheduled date of shipment, the dog must be tested for Brucella canis with a negative result. THe result from the Naata accredited CSIRO lab will be signed and certified.
The laboratory report of a copy endorsed by an official veterinarian must be attached to Veterinary Certificate A.
8.5 INTERNAL PARASITES
The dog must be treated twice fourteen days apart with an anthelmintic effective against Echinococcus granulosus and other trematodes, and nematode parasites at recommended dose rates with the last (second) treatment being forty-eight hours prior to export. THe Mellbourne Aqis export vets use Praziquantal and a dewormer.
The date of treatment, active ingredient and dosage used must be recorded on Veterinary Certificate A.
8.6 EXTERNAL PARASITES
Within four days of the scheduled date of shipment, the dog must be treated with an insecticide effective against ticks, lice and fleas. The Melbourne Aqis veterinarains use Fiprinol gently sprayed.
The chemical used and the dose rate and date of treatment must be specified in Veterinary Certificate A.
8.7 PRE-EXPORT INSPECTION
Within 48 hours prior to export the animal must be examined by a registered veterinarian and an Official Veterinarian and found to be free of clinical signs of infectious or contagious disease and external parasites and fit to travel.
8.8 LABORATORY TESTING
All immunological testing must be carried out by official diagnostic laboratories approved by AQIS.
9.0 WARNING
Incomplete certification and documentation or failure to comply with any of the conditions of importation will result in the animal/s either being re-shipped out of Fiji or destroyed, at the importer's expense.

3. The dog was identified with an implanted microchip,

dog will not be more than 42 days pregnant at the scheduled time

dog will be more than five months old at the scheduled time of
shipment.
6. The dog has been vaccinated against distemper, infectious canine hepatitis,
parvovirus, parainfluenza virus and leptospirosis at least thirty days and not more than
twelve months prior to export to Fiji.
The vaccination certificate, certified by me, is attached to Veterinary
Certificate A.
7. BRUCELLOSIS
Within 30 days prior to the scheduled date of shipment the dog has been tested for canine brucellosis with a negative result.
The laboratory (csiro) report or a copy endorsed by an official veterinarian is attached to veterinary certificate A.
8. INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL PARASITES
8.1 The dog was treated twice fourteen days apart with an anthelmintic for
Echinococcus granulosis and other cestodes and other parasites at recommended
dose rates with the second treatment within forty-eight hours of the scheduled
date of shipment.

Cats and dogs travelling to Fiji must be accompanied by a import permit issued by Animal Health and Production Division within Ministry of Agriculture and Primary Industries. Dogs and cats may be imported from Australia to Fiji.
