Additional Surgical Services

There are additional services offered for routine surgeries. If your pet is older or higher risk and these services are recommended, your vet will discuss this with you. However, they can also be added optionally at an extra cost.

Pre-Anaesthetic Blood test

We strongly recommend that any animal undergoing anaesthesia has a pre-anaesthetic blood test before the procedure. This test allows the veterinarian to identify medical issues that may not be evident during a physical exam but could increase the risks associated with anaesthesia, surgery and bleeding. This also provides a valuable baseline for future health assessments and comparisons.

If any results are significantly abnormal, the vet will contact you to discuss the findings and, if necessary, postpone the surgery.
