A warm welcome from all of us here at Maryborough Vet Surgery.

We are passionate about what we do, and it is integral that we get to know your pet and you in order to help you as best we can. In turn, get to know a little about us ...

David Goddard

Veterinarian

David has worked around the world with a huge variety of animals! Alongside his wife Michelle, they have been a part of the Maryborough community over the last decade. David has a keen interest in orthopaedics & dentistry. When not fixing broken bones, David spends time on the farm mending fences. He loves fishing and his family, which includes 3 children and a dog named Molly.

Deborah Sternbeck

Veterinarian

Dr Deb is our guru of all things soft tissue surgery! She is an experienced vet we wrangle in on Thursdays for elective surgeries making the trip from Gayndah where she lives and also works part-time. Deb's side-kick is her young daughter who often tags along during school holidays and is considered an integral part of our crew. She juggles all this, with her 2 children & husband, while running their Gayndah property; brimming with cattle, horses, dogs and cats.

Nicholl Jacobs

Veterinarian & Practice Owner

Dr Nicholl (or at the clinic often referred to as Dr Nic/Nicolaas) had been with Maryborough Veterinary Surgery for two years before deciding to buy the practice from Dr Goddard, the previous owner. Having emigrated from South Africa, he and his family call Maryborough their new home. He loves working with all kinds of animals but has a passion for team building and working effectively to achieve everyone's goals.

Tiana Araya

Veterinarian

Dr Tiana has been a resident in Maryborough for longer than you expected, being married to a local. She worked in the bay first before coming to her senses and joining our lovely team in 2023. She loves emergency medicine as well as surgery and, in her own words, "could spend the whole day in the theatre if she could." When not working she is busy building her home in town with her husband and two beautiful basset dogs named Olive and Penny.

Nicole Neilson

Veterinarian

Dr. Nicole Neilson is our bubbly vet you will hear laughing down the corridor when you come and visit.  She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but is our resident aspiring birds and exotics guru. If spending her days at work with animals isn't enough, she also shares her and her wife's home with two dogs, a cat and a horse named Slim. Outside of clinical practice, she loves camping and the outdoors and the odd scuba dive here and there.

Caitlin Quinn Ward

Veterinarian

Caitlin graduated from UQ in 2023. She is a local to Maryborough having attended Aldridge High School. She enjoys all aspects of her job, but finds surgery, emergency medicine and canine behaviour particularly interesting. She loves her golden retriever and rottwieler. Her hobbies include playing piano and spending time with her Fiancé

Joe Kelly

Veterinarian

Joe is our newest member of the veterinary team. He enjoys all aspects of veterinary practice but particularly the large animal work. When he isn't at work, he enjoys the outdoors and his cat Pedro.

Liz Pappin

Registered Veterinary Nurse & Practice Manager

Liz, a Maryborough local, has been part of the horse community since she could walk. She enjoys working on the farm with her husband and competing with her Australian Stock Horses in her spare time.

A valued member of the Maryborough Veterinary Surgery team since 2018, Liz started as a junior nurse and now serves as the efficient practice manager. She thrives in all aspects of her role, combining her love for animals with a strong work ethic.

Jamie Ogden

Veterinary Nurse

Jamie is a born and bred local. It feels like she knows everyone! She greets everyone with a big smile and her friendly demeanour makes her a big hit with our clients. She has been at Maryborough Veterinary Surgery since she finished her cert 4 in 2017. She loves her job and is a self-proclaimed Swiftie.

Mel Stephens

Veterinary Nurse

Melanie is passionate about her work, with a special interest in emergency medicine. When she's not working, she loves staying active and exploring the great outdoors. Whether it's fishing, camping, or hiking, Melanie can often be found enjoying these adventures with her dogs. At home, she shares her space with a house full of pets, including Archie, her playful Catahoula mix, Bailey, her energetic German Shorthaired Pointer, and Levi, her Ringneck parrot.

Samantha Bock

Veterinary Nurse

Samantha has always had a passion for animals and officially entered the veterinary profession a few years ago. She completed her Cert IV in 2024 and is currently finishing her Bachelor in Veterinary Technology. Outside of work, Sam enjoys riding motorbikes and horses, spending time at the beach, water sports, fashion, and cruising around in her Toyota MR2.

Lisa Meyer

Veterinary Nurse

Lisa has been a part of Maryborough Veterinary Clinic since 2022. She is our very own bird whisperer- with a great passion for the avian species. When she is not working, she enjoys camping, being outdoors and roadtripping.

Immogene Dodd

Veterinary Nurse

Immogene has a passion for animal care and brings this to work everyday. In her spare time she enjoys horse riding and spending time with loved ones.

Liz Tiedermann

Administration Manager

Liz T runs a tight ship- and manages the front office like a champion. She loves interacting with our customers and working to streamline the practice. She enjoys camping with her family, and is fond of her 3 dogs, 1 cat and fish.

Michelle Goddard

Receptionist

Michelle is one of the friendly faces you have probably met at our front desk. Being married to Dr David Goddard, one of our vets, she is also actively helping on the farm. She enjoys sundowners and a good time with her friends and loves spending quality time with her kids.

Dannielle Jamieson

Receptionist

Dannielle and family are Maryborough locals and appreciate the beauty of this area being from and farming family. Dannielle enjoys spending with her family outdoors with farm animals and working dogs. You’ll notice Dannielle’s calm demeanor and friendly face as you enter the practice.

Blair Harris

Receptionist

Blair lives on a cane farm along with her husband and German Shepherd. They often share their space with many foster doggos. Blair found her passion for animals leading her to managing the Maryborough Animal Refuge for many years. After a break from working with animals we are happy to have her back in the thick of it at Maryborough Veterinary Surgery!
