IN HOSPITAL LABORATORY TESTING
In Hospital Laboratory area (Copyright 2012)
Our Veterinary Hospital is equipped with an in-house IDEXX VetTest Laboratory that allows our Veterinarians and Veterinary Nurses to quickly perform many of these diagnostic tests to achieve an accurate and rapid diagnosis. This is especially important in very ill animals and those requiring immediate or emergency treatment. Our in house laboratory can provide results within minutes.
Our IDEXX VetTest Chemistry Analyser can currently run the following tests
General Health Profile - The most comprehensive panel for use in establishing baselines, screening senior pets and wellness exams
Pre Anaesthetic Panel - Ensuring the safety of anaesthetising a patient
CK - Creatine Kinase - Checking for damaged muscle, including heart muscle
LIP - Lipase
EXTERNAL LABORATORY SPECIALISED TESTING
Some more specialised tests may need to be performed by an external Veterinary laboratory.
Specialised testing may take 12-24 hours for blood results or up to 14 days for biopsy results, depending on the nature of the test being performed.
Ask your veterinarian when to call for your pet’s laboratory results.
