Blacktown Veterinary Hospital was established by Dr Russ Dickens as the very first veterinary hospital in the Western Suburbs. The hospital has more than 60 years of experience treating thousands of dogs, cats, and also animals from the local zoo. Dr Dickens was a well respected Veterinarian and served as the Mayor of Blacktown. He was awarded the Order of Australia Medal in 1992 for the treatment of Koalas and received the Key to Blacktown City. He was a good friend and mentor to Dr Daniel Song and Dr Bronwyn Cleasby. The hospital is committed to continuing his legacy of serving the local community.
