Glen Hastie

Veterinarian (BVSc, MVS, MACVSc)

Glen graduated from the QLD university and has been a practicing vet since 1989 and has worked at Sunbury Animal Hospital the entire time.

Glen lives in Sunbury on 150 acres and among his menagerie of animals are 2 dogs, 4 cats, 11 chooks, 2 miniature pigs and 50 Highland cattle.

Glen enjoys breeding and showing his cattle, playing squash and tennis, and spending time with his family


Emma Armstead

Veterinarian (BVSc (Hons))

Dr Emma Armstead graduated from the University of Queensland with Honours and has been a practicing vet since 2007.
Emma has practiced in both Australia and overseas and has a broad range of experience in small animal medicine, surgery and emergency practice.
 
Emma's special interests include small animal internal medicine and ultrasound.
 

In her spare time, Emma enjoys yoga, painting and spending time with her two children.


Heloise Meighan

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Heloise graduated from the University of Melbourne, and joined our team in early 2015 after working in a small animal clinic in Sandringham. Heloise enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but particularly enjoys surgery.

In her spare time Heloise enjoys surfing, skiing and all things fitness as well as singing and playing the cello. 

Heloise resides in Brunswick with her dog, Thunder and cat Gypsy.


Amber Bruton

Veterinarian (BVSc (Hons), MACVSc)


Amber graduated from the University of Melbourne and has been a practising vet since 2002 and started her career at Sunbury Animal Hospital. She then went on to work in the UK for 2 years before returning to our clinic where she has been ever since.

Amber grew up locally and now lives with her husband, son, and daughter, along with their two cats, Oliver and Hugo.

Her interests include food, films, reading, keeping fit and her beloved Western Bulldogs

 


Claire Mann

Veterinarian (BSc BVSs (Hons))

** CURRENTLY ON MATERNITY LEAVE **

Claire graduated from the University of Queensland but has since returned to Melbourne to be closer to friends and family.

She started her career at a large general practice in Traralgon, and last year she spent some time working as an overnight emergency vet, which she found very interesting and challenging.

She is now glad to be working daytime hours again at a general practice clinic where she looks forward to forming long term relationships with the local clients and their pets. 
 
At home Claire snuggles up to two kitty cats, her husband and her toddler, Scarlett.


Candice Waldhauser

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Candice graduated from James Cook University in Queensland and has since worked at a mixed practice in Bacchus Marsh before moving to Sunbury Animal Hospital in March 2016.

Candice is a local girl, having lived in Riddells Creek since she was 4 years old.
She has been riding horses since this age, but now also enjoys CrossFit, challenging herself and loves trying new things. Candice has 1 dog, 3 cats, 3 horses and chickens to keep her busy.

Candice enjoys small animal practice and has a keen interest in surgery.


Leighton Burger

Veterinarian (BMedLabSc, DVM)

Leighton graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. He joined us in late June 2017 after working in another small animal practice for the past few years. He enjoys all aspects of being a small animal vet, but is really just in it for the puppy and kitten cuddles.
 

Dr. Leighton has a German Shorthaired Pointer at home who more than keeps him occupied, but in his spare time he likes to annoy his neighbours by hitting various things with sticks and twanging on strings.


Ruth Palamountain

Veterinarian (BVSc (Hons), MACVSc)

Ruth graduated from Melbourne University and has been practicing at Sunbury Animal Hospital ever since.

In her spare time Ruth enjoys running, travelling and spending time with friends and family.

Ruth lives in Riddells Creek with her family, 3 dogs (2 whippets and an Italian greyhound), 2 chickens, a duck and 2 guinea pigs.

 


Justine

Receptionist

Justine originally started at our clinic in 1986. After a long break she has recently returned to us.

Justine and her children live in Sunbury and share their home with Penny the Dachshund, Sophie the Golden Retriever, Tabatha & Batman the two cats, Harry the Budgie and Nugget the Goldfish.

Justine enjoys spending time with her children and their many sporting activities, walking & having coffee with friends.

 


Leanne

Receptionist (Certificate in Veterinary Nursing)

Leanne has been a nurse at Sunbury Animal Hospital since 1996.

She and her husband live in Lancefield with their little Jack Russel puppy Lois

 


Jennie

Receptionist

Jennie has been a receptionist with Sunbury Animal Hospital since 2000.

She and her husband live in Sunbury with their dog Will, and cat Woody.

 


Tania

Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing, Diploma in Specialist Surgical Nursing)

Tania started working at Sunbury Animal Hospital in 2005.

Tania lives with her three dogs Dipsy, Bindi and Millie and her horse Ernie.

Tania has a strong interest in horses, but also enjoys gardening, spending time with family and her animals

 


Bree

Veterinary Practice Manager (Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Biosciences)

Bree graduated university in 2010 and has been working with Sunbury Animal Hospital ever since.

Bree lives with her cat Donnie, her dog Bozley, her two horses Harmony & Jay Jay, a blue tongue lizard and an assortment of birds.

Bree enjoys a range of sports including squash, swimming & horse riding and also has an interest in rebuilding vintage cars.

 


Courtney

Veterinary Nurse (Cert II Animal Care and Management)

Courtney started working at Sunbury Animal Hospital in February 2012 and holds multiple certificates in animal care and agriculture.

Courtney lives in Sunbury with her young son and their menagerie of animals - including 2 dogs, 1 cat, a turtle, a bearded dragon, an axolotl, and a southern brown tree frog.

Courtney loves spending time with her family and friends, playing guitar, and has a keen interest in vintage cars and tattoos.  


Madeleine

Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV Vet Nursing)

Madeleine started at Sunbury Animal Hospital in 2011 after doing placement with us for her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.

Madeleine is particularly interested in neonatal care (puppies and kittens) and has already adopted several kittens that have come into the clinic.

Madeleine most enjoys spending time with her husband Josh, their daughter Charli, and of course her cats. 


Tamara

Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV Vet Nursing)

Tamara started at Sunbury Animal Hospital in late 2013 and is qualified in Cert IV Veterinary Nursing.

Tamara lives in Sunbury with her family, her dogs Leroy & June, and her rabbits Rex & Billie.

In her spare time Tamara enjoys spending time with her pets, family and friends


Elisa

Trainee Nurse

Initially studying to be a human oral health therapist, Elisa quickly realised her passion for working with animals, and joined the team at Sunbury Animal Hospital as a veterinary nurse in July 2014. Elisa is currently studying for her certificate in veterinary nursing at Box Hill TAFE.

In her spare time Elisa enjoys spending time with friends and family and attending music gigs.

Elisa lives in Gisborne with her family, and her dog, Ziggy.


Amy

Trainee Nurse

Amy started at the Sunbury Animal Hospital in May 2015. She is currently studying her certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing at Box Hill TAFE.

In her spare time, Amy likes to travel, spend time with family and friends, and bake.

Amy currently lives in Sunbury with her family, dog Lily, cat Oliver and her sister's dog, Ace.


Jess

Jess started working at Sunbury Animal Hospital in early 2015, and is currently undertaking VCE at Sunbury College.

Jess lives in Sunbury with her family, and her dog, Nala.

Jess mostly enjoys spending time with her friends, shopping and playing with her dog.


Mikayla

Trainee Nurse

Mikayla has been working at Sunbury Animal Hospital since December 2016.
She is currently studying Cert IV Vet Nursing at Box Hill Institute.

Mikayla lives in Gisborne with her family, her dog Oscar, and her two guinea pigs, Ned and Pedro.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and travelling.
