Don Crosby

Practice Owner (BVSc)

Don graduated from the University of Queensland in 1984. Don is a mixed practioner with over 30 years experience and opened the clinic in Darling Street in 2002.  He has a particular interest in small animal orthopaedics and problem mare reproduction. Don is also an accredited member of the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, allowing us to offer gold beading and acupuncture to our clients as an alternative medicine.

Don runs his practices as a positive and friendly work atmosphere. He urges all his vets to pursue their interest in certain areas that they enjoy, and supports them to achieve their goals. Don encourages the nurses to have their input with clinic procedures, implement new ideas and inspires them to continue their education.

Candice Cottrell

Veterinarian (BVsc)

Candice started with us as a locum vet and we left such a good impression she decided to become full time in September 2015. She graduated from the University of Queensland in 2007 and began her first veterinary job in Longreach. After two and a half years it was time to move on so Candice did some locum work around Queensland followed by some overseas holidaying. She worked in Chinchilla in 2011 and was there for two and a half years doing mixed practice.She enjoys beef cattle production with pregnancy testing and bull testing a highlight. In her spare time Candice enjoys swimming, jigsaw puzzles and taking her one-eyed Maremma Ted on driving adventures around the countryside. She also loves her time stewarding at the Royal Queensland Show each year.  

Hannah Brodie

Veterinarian (BVSc )

Dr Hannah graduated from University of Queensland in 2014. She is originally from Cloncurry in Far North QLD and moved to Dubbo in 2015. Hannah has a particular interest in equine medicine, but also has a keen hand in small animal cases proving a very useful asset to our clinic. Her bubbly personality puts her patients and clients at ease and she is always ready to lend a hand. In her free time she enjoys playing sport, walking her dog Lucy and relaxing with her rescue kitten Louie.

James Bryan

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Dr James graduated from the University of Sydney in 2013, and took up a position in Armidale for 12 months before joining the our team at the start of 2015. James has an interest in small animal surgery, focusing towards orthopeadics, and feline medicine. His spare time is filled with spending time with his girlfriend Victoria, cuddling his cat Hamish as well as tennis, touch football and playing guitar.

Roslyn Lee

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Roslyn graduated from Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga in 2014. She worked in Warwick, QLD before coming to us in May this year but is originally from Queanbeyan, NSW. Roslyn is interested in small animal surgery/medicine but also enjoys the challange of equine surgery and internal medicine. On her days off she works on the farm in Gunnedah with boyfriend Nick and their 3 dogs. Roslyn likes to attend music concerts whenever the opportunity arises.

Amanda Parker

Veterinary Practice Manager (Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing & Cert IV in Practice Management)

Amanda is the practice manager for the Dubbo and Narromine clinics. She moved here from Coonamble with her family in 2007 and completed her nurse training at DCVS in 2009. Amanda is in charge of clinic ordering and stock control but also enjoys the nursing side of her work. She meets with the company reps to receive the most up to date information about everything from nutrition to medications. In her free time she likes to spend time with her dogs Bella and Sully and cats Alley and Alice. 

Wendy Cafe


Wendy is the lovely face of the Dubbo clinic. Her personality and charm greets you at the door, and she has a special connection with our clients to make them feel part of the DCVS family. Wendy has worked with Don for the last 9 years and still enjoys coming to work each day. Her spare time is filled with family and friends and of course coffee with the girls. She also enjoys sewing and spoiling her animals Beni & Norman.

Kathryn George

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing)

Kathryn completed her Cert IV training with Amanda in 2009. She worked for 18 months at a clinic in Orange whilst doing her certificate, before taking a full time job here at DCVS in June 2010. She grew up on a property near Warren and has always had a variety of animals around. Kathryn likes the emergency and surgery aspect of her job, preparing patients and monitoring their anaesthetics. She loves working with our orthopaedic patients and developing a rehabilitation program for their recovery.Out of work, Kathryn keeps busy with her 2 dogs, Callie and Brady and cat Fern. She is also currently studying her Diploma of Veterinary Nursing in Surgery and is a committee member of the NSW Division of the Veterinary Nurses Council of Australia

Monique Perrie

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing)

Monique completed her Certificate IV in Vet Nursing at DCVS and is now a full time nurse. Monique is extremely efficient at her job and can nearly always anticipate what needs to be done before it actually happens! She loves all the patients equally regardless of size or breed and is caring and patient with them as someone beyond her experience. Monique lives with her partner Lewis and dogs Tyson & Frank and enjoys baking in her down time.

Brooke Pixton

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing)

Brooke is a full time nurse and completed her Certificate IV in 2013. Brooke is reliable, enjoys a challenge and has an uncanny affinity with 'difficult' animals. She is eager to learn all she can and really enjoys the surgical aspect, monitoring anaesthetised patients, and helping out with the horse work. She currently lives in Dubbo but spends her days off and weekends in Mendooran with her dogs Flick, Indy & Titch and her many horses.

Sara McGilchrist

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing)

Sara works part time in our Narromine clinic after returning from maternity leave.She lives in Narromine with her family and a many aray of animals from chooks to horses. Sara also works at TAFE Western, teaching Veterinary Nursing and Animal Studies for the past 5 years. She started work with Don as a nurse from the very beginning in 2002, and there isn't alot that she wouldn't know about life in the vet clinic!  In the little time that she has off from her busy life Sara is a keen gardner, loves to cook and makes her own cheese.

Natasha Grech

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing)

Narromine nurse Tash is an experienced nurse and comes with a wealth of knowledge in all fields of nursing and particularly likes the emergency and critical care aspect of her job. Tash has started up a small business called Pierre's Pantry in Narromine which makes lots of home made goodies (which her work colleagues are more than happy to taste test!) When she is not working or cooking she enjoys relaxing with her husband Peter and  her variety of pets. 

Tammy Mudford

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing)

Tammy grew up on a Merino Stud near Dubbo with her 2 brothers and sister, and is always surrounded by animals. She fastracked through her Certificate in Veterinary Nursing in 2013 to get qualified, and now works part time in the Narromine clinic. The surgical aspect of nursing appeals to her the most as she enjoys cuddling anaesthetised animals back to recovery.  Tammy loves all things outdoors and hopes to return to her family sheep station full time one day. She spends her spare time working on the farm with her many animals.

Laura Windley

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing)

Laura is our friendly Narromine nurse who is currently finishing her vet nursing certifcate. Laura has lived in Dubbo for the past year but originally comes from Queensland. She has always been surrounded by animals from dogs to cats to ferrets and couldnt be happy without them. Laura wants to focus more on the surgical aspect of nursing but loves everything about her job. In her days off she enjoys bushwalking and bike riding with her border collie Bella and some relaxing time with her cat Sussy.

Jessica Tully

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing)

Jessica joined our team in 2015 from the busy city life in Sydney to a more relaxed country lifestyle in our Narromine clinic. Jess started her nursing career in Bourke in 2007 and continued from there to Baulkham Hills in Sydney. Jess enjoys many aspects of her nursing including medical and emergency cases that present to the clinic but she has an interest in animal behaviour and exotics. There is a menagery of animals at Jess' house with dogs - Tex, Sky, Custard and Elli, Boga the blue tongue lizard, Matilda the cat and a bird and rabbit to throw in as well! When Jess isn't wrangling the animals she is sewing with her home business Desert Pea Treasures (which you can find more info about on Facebook)
